Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Basegrid collects, how we use it and how we protect it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly. On this website that is what you enter when you register interest or apply to beta test: your name, email address, whether you work as a builder, designer or something else, and for beta applications your business name and roughly how many jobs you model a year. We also record the page you signed up from, any campaign tags in the link you followed, and the type of browser you used.

If you use the Basegrid workspace or the SketchUp extension, we also hold your account details, the material library, rates and takeoffs you build, and the connection tokens that let the extension talk to your workspace.

2. How we use your information

We use it to contact you about Basegrid: to tell you when it releases, to offer and manage beta places, and to answer your enquiries. In the workspace we use it to run the service for you and to improve it. We do not use your details for anything unrelated to Basegrid.

3. Information sharing

We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. It is held by the services that run Basegrid, which are bound to keep it confidential: Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in Sydney), Vercel (hosting) and Resend (email). If we adopt a mailing platform for release news, your sign-up details will move to it for that purpose only.

4. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising trackers. If we add usage analytics they will be the privacy-preserving kind that does not identify you. The workspace uses cookies only to keep you signed in.

5. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including access controls on every table that holds it. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can come off the release list at any time. Email hello@basegrid.com.au and we will act on it.

7. Third-party links

This website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content, and we encourage you to read the policy of every site you visit.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new revision date.
